Research on the habanese burial site in Přibice demolishes myths about their great stature

The anthropological and archaeological research of the cemetery in Přibice in the Brno region provides a unique insight into the life of the members of the reformist Christian society, also known as Habáni. A team of anthropologists from the Institute of Anthropology of the MU Faculty of Science has been working there for the fifth season. After finishing her master's degree in Brazil, Marina Grossi was looking for a Ph.D. opportunity abroad. Luckily, she found a Ph.D. offer at RECETOX, and she applied for it. She has been studying at RECETOX for three years.

Ludovic Mayer: Don’t be scared to go far for new experience

Ludovic, a Ph.D. student in Environment and Health, is not afraid of any challenge, and scientific research is one big adventure. He comes from a tiny French town called Saint-Avold, and he liked the RECETOX research topics so much that he decided to move to the South Moravian metropolis. His research work focuses on pesticides and the ways pesticides pollute our air. For his research, Ludovic received a prestige Brno Ph.D. talent award.

I'm not a lab person, but I want to change legislation as a scientist

Natálie Šelleová is a second-year bachelor's student in Environment and Health. Although she does not want to work in a lab in the future, human health and environmental issues are her top-of-mind priorities. After her studies, she desires to be a person explaining complex scientific issues to the public and politicians and contributes to legislation changes.

Dominik Madea was awarded the scientific prize of the French Embassy

Dominik Madea, a student of the PhD programme in Chemistry at the Faculty of Science of MU, scored in the competition of young scientists for prizes awarded by the Embassy of France in the Czech Republic, when he took third place in the Chemistry category and won the Jean-Marie Lehn Prize 2022. Congratulations!
