Dear ladies, dear gentlemen,
On 31st January 2022, the current Dean's term of office will expire. The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science MU has announced the election of a new Dean. The process of the election of the Dean is regulated by the Statute of the Faculty of Science MU, Annex 3.
The candidate for the next Dean of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University (MU) will be elected by the Faculty of Science’s Academic Senate at a meeting to be held at 3 pm on October 18, 2021 (venue to be specified). Tomáš Kašparovský, the current Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Karel Kubíček, were nominated. The materials submitted by the candidates, as well as the election schedule, can be found on the the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science, MU.

The Czech national team achieved an extraordinary triumph at the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO 2025), a prestigious competition for high school students from around the world. The event, held in Jining, China, from August 7 to 17, 2025, tested both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across disciplines such as geology, hydrology, climatology, astronomy, and environmental science. In addition, the competition evaluated research capabilities and teamwork.
