From Labs to Life: PhD Journeys Unplugged
From coffee breaks to career tips, students explored the twists and turns of the PhD journey with those who’ve walked the path before them.
The 15th year of the L'Oréal-UNESCO talent program For Women in Science, supported by the international organization UNESCO and the company L‘Oréal Czech Republic in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, is starting. The main goal of the project is to support young scientists in their scientific careers and to highlight science as a promising profession among women.
This year, the reward of CZK 600,000 will be shared between three talented researchers. The amount obtained can be used in several ways, and to participate in the project it is necessary to fill in the application form www.prozenyvevede.cz.
Applications can be completed until February 28, 2021.

The Czech national team achieved an extraordinary triumph at the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO 2025), a prestigious competition for high school students from around the world. The event, held in Jining, China, from August 7 to 17, 2025, tested both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across disciplines such as geology, hydrology, climatology, astronomy, and environmental science. In addition, the competition evaluated research capabilities and teamwork.
