From Labs to Life: PhD Journeys Unplugged
From coffee breaks to career tips, students explored the twists and turns of the PhD journey with those who’ve walked the path before them.
With regard to the worsening epidemiological situation, the Government of the Czech Republic adopted a resolution restricting the operation of universities effective from 12 October 2020 to 25 October 2020. The in-person presence of students and participants in lifelong learning courses is no longer permitted during this period. The current possibility of laboratory, artistic or experimental work in small groups, individual visits to libraries and study rooms, full-time consultations, etc. no longer applies.
Students of medical disciplines (general medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and other medical study programs) are excepted from this restriction.
This regulation applies throughout the country.

The Czech national team achieved an extraordinary triumph at the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO 2025), a prestigious competition for high school students from around the world. The event, held in Jining, China, from August 7 to 17, 2025, tested both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across disciplines such as geology, hydrology, climatology, astronomy, and environmental science. In addition, the competition evaluated research capabilities and teamwork.
