Dear colleagues,
in connection with the development of the epidemiological situation and the current form of government measures, the Dean's measure No. 2/2020 (Measures in connection with the epidemiological situation) and the Instruction No. 4/2020 (Instructions to students of the Faculty of Science, MU) are no longer in force. Instruction No. 2/2020 (Implementation of teaching, completion of studies, and completion of subjects in the spring semester of 2020) and Measure No. 4/2020 (Holding of state final examinations in the spring semester of 2020) remain in force.
Hygienic measures, business trips, and general activities at the Faculty of Science will continue to follow MU's general instructions, available at www.muni.cz/en/coronavirus, or www.sci.muni.cz/en/coronavirus. The information and guidance on this website are regularly updated as the situation develops.
It is still the case that employees who have come into contact with a person infected with COVID-19 coronavirus or suspect that they may be infected with the disease should not enter the workplace and contact their supervisor to agree on further action.
We recommend following the State Institute of Public Health website, where you will find further information and recommendations regarding coronavirus www.szu.cz/topics, koronavirus.mzcr.cz/en/
I wish you all a pleasant summer.

The Czech national team achieved an extraordinary triumph at the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO 2025), a prestigious competition for high school students from around the world. The event, held in Jining, China, from August 7 to 17, 2025, tested both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across disciplines such as geology, hydrology, climatology, astronomy, and environmental science. In addition, the competition evaluated research capabilities and teamwork.
