Meet Our New HR Award Team 👋
The new HR Award team would like to introduce themselves—and they’re doing it a bit differently than you’re used to. Want to see how?
We continue with the implementation of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R, HR Award) at the Faculty of Science MU. Below please find the summary of our main achievements in the second half of 2019.
The new faculty directive on a Process of Employee Evaluation has been created in cooperation with our faculty Work Group and Steering Committee members and also with our researchers participating in the Researcher Focus Group – Opinion Makers in the pilot phase of the HR Award project. This Directive introduces a faculty framework in line with the MU directive on Staff Evaluation. The documents have been published on a faculty document server and shall be effective from January 1st, 2020. The first evaluations of employees’ performance will start in 2021; we will work on the system setup and data preparation in the upcoming year. The regular assessment of the employees’ work performance is also a way to address employees´ development needs. We believe that using the EVAK e-application will make this process easy and user-friendly.
At this point, let us express our gratitude to all colleagues involved in our workshops and sessions for their precious time, valuable suggestions, and cooperation.
In the area of training activities, we have introduced a new form of workplace safety training – an e-learning tool. The Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Protection (OSH and FP) employee training is also available in English.
We are glad that the bilingual internal communication is becoming a rule at the faculty. Key faculty documents, such as Faculty Statute, Organisation, and Operation Rules, have been translated to English and have been added to the document server.
The work on the new faculty website, including its English version, is also successfully progressing.
This year has passed faster than we expected, and some of our action points, e.g. practical guidelines for the recruitment process and new guidelines for Occupational Health and Safety are in the advanced stage, but not fully finished. These shall be introduced in the first half of 2020.
We want to thank you for your support and wish you a wonderful Christmas time.
We are looking forward to cooperation in 2020!
Yours,
SCI MUNI HR Award team

A year ago, Science magazine listed altermagnets as one of nine breakthrough discoveries. Now, physicists from the Masaryk University’s Faculty of Science in Brno and Osaka Metropolitan University have come up with results that further advance our understanding of this new type of magnetic material.
