Erasmus+ Applications for Staff – Spring Semester 2026
Dear colleagues,
We would like to inform you that applications are now open for Erasmus+ stays in the spring semester of 2026.
At the beginning of October, the Central Library of the Faculty of Science presented itself together with 18 other Brno libraries at the first edition of the Book Quiz, a day with Brno libraries. The meeting took place as part of Library Week in the gardens of the National Resistance and attracted hundreds of students from secondary schools.
The objective was to present libraries to the general public in one place and to highlight their diversity. In the park near Šelepka, libraries with universal collections such as the Moravian Library or the Jiří Mahen Library, then university libraries, as well as specialised libraries - gathered.
"During the event, we were pleased to see that both the older and younger generations were interested not only in libraries, but also in the possibilities of studying at the university, whether within the framework of the University of the Third Age, or the MjUNI entertainment and education programme", said Klára Urbánková from the Central Library of the Faculty of Science.

The day-long event was divided into a morning section for high school students, for whom a quiz was prepared. During the event, students visited the stands of all the libraries and tried to find out as much information about them as possible, on the basis of which they then answered questions. The afternoon session for the general public also featured a quiz. This time on various topics and with the participation of the Mayor of Brno, who provided patronage for the event. In both cases, solvers were gifted generous prizes.
The Faculty of Science of MU was represented by two libraries - the Central Library of the Faculty of Science from the Kotlářská campus and the University Campus Library from Bohunice. Not only promotional materials, but also books from various collections, as well as small gifts in the form of fancy badges or seeds for planting were prepared for the high school students and the public. Especially the skeleton became very popular. During the afternoon programme, representatives of the libraries spoke to the public - Taťána Škarková, for the Central Library, and Jiří Kratochvíl, for the University Campus Library.
The first year of the KnihKvíz has the ambition to start a new cooperation between libraries and it is likely that we can already look forward to the next year.
