Andrea Bardůnek Valigurová
Associate Professor Bardůnek Valigurová obtained her habilitation in Zoology. She has long specialised in studying the variability of parasitic strategies in basal spore lines occurring under different environmental conditions. Her Habilitation thesis is a comprehensive work dealing with the morphology, ultrastructure and molecular phylogeny of basal spore groups. Specifically, it deals with strategies for the association of parasites with host cells, methods of obtaining nutrition from the host organism and mechanisms of motility. Associate Professor Bardůnek Valigurová works at the Department of Botany and Zoology at the Faculty of Science, MU.

Milan Číž
Associate Professor Číž obtained his habilitation in Animal Physiology. He has long been involved in the field of modulating the activity of professional phagocytes using natural substances. In addition to the non-specific effects of natural substances, such as the ability to scavenge free oxygen radicals, his habilitation thesis also focuses on their specific actions in individual pathway processes, such as serotonin receptors. He is well regarded within his field due to the undeniable benefits of his work and its applications in the experimental treatment of diseases related to immune system disorders. Associate Professor Číž works in the Section of Animal Physiology and Immunology at the Department of Experimental Biology at the Faculty of Science, MU.

Lenka Zalabová
Associate Professor Zalabová obtained her habilitation in Mathematics-Geometry. She has long focused on parabolic geometries, especially their symmetry, geometric properties and applications in geometric control theory. In her habilitation thesis, she examined parabolic geometries, which are important classes of geometric structures, and combined several methods for their study. Her work included the study of geometries with significant transformations and the properties of geometries resulting from the existence of these transformations. Associate Professor Zalabová works at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Faculty of Science, MU, and the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice.

Pavel Plevka
Associate Professor Plevka holds a habilitation in Biomolecular Chemistry. He has long devoted himself to the structural characterisation of viruses and their infectious processes. In his habilitation thesis, he focused on the field of structural virology, dealing mainly with viruses related to human and bee pathogens, using cryoelectron microscopy and protein crystallography in his research. According to experts, his work has contributed to the hitherto under-explored topic of transmission mechanisms in specific viruses. Associate Professor Plevka works as the Head of the Pavel Plevka Research Group at the CEITEC MU Institute.

Tomáš Vaculovič
Associate Professor Vaculovič holds a habilitation in Analytical Chemistry, with a focus on elementary and molecular imaging, and especially the use of analytical methods for imaging geological and biological samples. His habilitation thesis deals with the use of laser ablation, in combination with elementary mass spectrometry, for studying the composition of metallic, biological and geological materials, and outlines the potential of this new analytical technique for biological and medical sciences. Associate Professor Vaculovič works at the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, MU.
